Boundaries of Eden

“With a strong conviction to approach the landscape without preconceived notions comes Paul Solomon, armed with only an iPhone . . . There is something here, a literal collision of method and chance that he executes with a precision, wit and grace.” Claire Molek, of Brave New Art World, writing about Boundaries of Eden when it premiered in a solo show at Canvas Chicago, in Wicker Park, Chicago, in December 2013.

The work got its start when I was an artist in residence working in the Hudson River Valley, at the invitation of Art Kibbutz, NY. In 2014 I was further assisted with a generous fellowship from the Associazione Culturale Civilta’ del Mediterraneo,  in Italy, a Faculty Research and Creative Activities Award from Western Michigan University (WMU). This body of work was recently seen in two group shows in New York. An expansive one-person exhibition of Boundaries of Eden was held this year  in the Richmond Center for Visual Arts, at Western Michigan University.

An essay about Boundaries of Edenby Swedish philosopher Anna Bergqvist  can be read HERE. Limited edition photographs are available as archival inkjet prints in two sizes: 51 inches and 26 inches across; the height of the prints varies. Prints are on Hahnemühle paper.
